          • Who can apply for relief under CMRF ?

            Patients and the person in distress due to natural causes can apply for relief under CMRF.

          • What are the mandatory documents required to apply for relief under CMRF?

            BPL card , Aadhar card, Election identity card, original bills of the Hospital or estimate for treatment, discharge summary in the case of completed treatment.

          • Is submiting of original bills mandatory ?

            Yes, the original bills of the hospital where treatment is taken must be submitted along with the application. Copy of the bills, duplicate bills, Xerox bills etc are not entertained exemption is given in case of patients under-going dialyses and chemotherapy exemption is giving from this condition They can submit the bills of treatment.

          • Is it mandatory to submit discharge summery in original?

            copy or Xerox copy of the discharge summery is also accepted. In case of dialyses and chemotherapy treatment discharge summery not mandatory.

          • What is the time limit for applying for the relief under CMRF ?

            Application for relief should be submitted within one year of the treatment. The application is accepted based on the date in the final bill.

          • Is the estimate given by the hospital prior to the treatment acceptable ? what is the time limit for an Estimate ?

            The estimate given by the hospital is accepted bfore the treatment. Based on that the estimate commitment letter will be issued to the hospitals. The estimate should be submitted within 40 days of it being issued.

          • Is any person, who claimed the amount from any insurance company or secured financial assistance from any other sources, eligible to apply for relief under CMRF ?

            No.

          • Is there any chances for second application seeking relief under CMRF ?

            No, Generally one application from a person is considered for relief. If further treatment is taken in the cases of deadly diseases, they can seek additional assistance in the form of a fresh application. On verification and scrutiny , if eligible, the additional relief fund will be released under the discretionary power of the Honourable Chief Minister.

          • Is there any provision to apply for relief under CMRF, seeking assistance from the persons in distress due to natural calamities and other tragedies other than ill health ?

            Yes. Apart from ill health issues, the person who suffers from natural calamities or from any other tragedies are also provided relief based on the reports submitted by the Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts.

          • Can the legal heirs of a deceased patient apply for relief under CMRF ?

            No, the application for relief under CMRF ‘after the death’ of the patient will not be entertained.

          • Can a person without BPL card apply for relief fund under CMRF ?

            BPL card is mandatory to apply for relief under CMRF. But, a special provision is made for eligible people without BPL under different critera.

          • How can the application be made in the case of treatment of minor child?

            In the case of treatment of minor child, the application can be submitted in the name of mother.

          • Can People from outside Karnataka and residing the state can apply for relief under CMRF?

            The people who possess the Election Identity card and the adhar card issued in Karnataka state are only eligible to apply for relief under CMRF.

          • Can the sufferers of Road Traffic accident and the people with pending cases in court be eligible to apply for relief under CMRF ?

            The application regards Road Traffic Accident (RTA), the Medico Legal Case (MLC) and other cases pending in the court are not considered for relief under CMRF

          • Are the donation to CMRF exempted from Income Tax? If exempted, under which section, this exemption is allowed?

            The donation made to CMRF are exempted under section 80G of Income tax Act to the tune of 100%

          • Does the CMRF has PAN of its own?

            Yes, The CMRF has the PAN bearing No: AAAGC169281 and GGGGG0000G.

          • Can the donations be made to the CMRF for rehabilitation on of natural calamities ?

            Yes, But a separate account is maintained specifically for the victims of natural calamities.
